I made up this meme for people who work in childcare or have children or who just have nieces/nephews, grandchildren or younger cousins.

Today we ripped this meme off a blogger called AnyHow at AnyHow Blogs. Our good friend and former Rising Blogger partner Mimi Lenox discovered it's 100 or so questions and was kind enough to edit it to 30 and steal it and pass it along. christmas 2006

What I remember of christmas 2006 is that I woke up about 9 am and I went to Church at 10:30 for the morning service even though it was Monday I think. It started with singing carols and other praise songs, I can not remember what they were then, it turned out that my ex-boyfriend came and this was when we were still together. We sat together the whole time and once the service finished I had a quick cup of tea and a few biscuits, then I said goodbye to Joe and left to go round my sister's house.

But first I went home to get the presents for them, there were very big ones for the kids and some small ones, a few nights before my aunt and uncle had come with some as well. I went with Dad in the car and mum, I sat in the back with the presents very squashed.

Once we got to Ruth's house the sitting room was covered with Christmas wrapping paper from when my nieces had opened their presents once they had woken up, probably that was about 7 or 8 am. They were enjoying their new toys and playing with them on the floor, I handed them the other presents and Katelin who was 2 had help from her mum.

Blain my sister's partner was trying to put their toys together or get them off the packaging or boxes and we were given our presents from Ruth and Blain and opened them. The dog was in the sitting room as well and jumped at us when we came in like he always does, back then he was under 1 about 10 months old.

We had also brought snacky food round and put it on the dining table with the rest of the food to snack on and we put the tv on for a bit of course there was christmas shows on and films to watch. I think we watched home alone 2 or something similar and listened to christmas songs on the music channel. Also I helped the children with their toys and played with them, I remember that I received a playstaion 2 game from Ruth as she didn't know what to get me, so she asked beforehand.

About 4 or 5 pm Ruth put the chicken in the oven to roast and Dad helped with the roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings. Mum just watched the tv or talked to Ruth or Blain about random things or when dinner is. When we had dinner it was lovely and we got quite full up from the snacky food, we had a few cups of tea or coffee each inbetween.

We didn't go home from Ruth's until about 9 pm that year and we watched a few christmas films and chatted about things, tidied up all the mess and put away the laft over food as well as ensuring the children put their toys upstairs in their rooms and they went to bed about 8 pm I think or after a film was over.

I remember a few days before Ruth came with the girls to a Christingle service with the oranges and candles, The girls enjoyed having their own safe candle each and the older two joined in when the leaders of the service asked children to come to the front. They would get sweets or a small present if they got a question right, I think Louise (the oldest)answered one right. We had pictures on our tables for joining in a song of the twelve days of christmas, where you stand up when your picture is called like four calling birds. It was quite funny and the children enjoyed the service the most and they left to go home when it finished at 7:30 pm. About 2 weeks before christmas day me and Dad went to Bovingdon Market which is on an old aircraft runway and then we got a dog mat for our dog Lulu who wasn't there on xmas day as it would be hard with Stitch the other dog. I brought baking kits to make chocolate, ice cream and milkshake for the children and Dad got them a princess castle set each and a doll with accessories for Katelin.They really enjoyed them on xmas day but it was hard to be able to use the baking kits I tried to help the girls, the instructions were rubbish I thought. I also brought the Girls a christmas stocking each and put sweets inside for them to enjoy and a princess jewelry set each.

Scrapbooking and art Inspiration

Today I decided to look at other blogs to get some ideas and learn about what blogs look like as I had never made one until today. I didn't know where to make one for starters. Anyway I copy and pasted some other people's pictures on their blogs for inspiration so they are not my own. In the future I will add my own pictures and inspirational tips and ideas for others to enjoy but in the meantime I am going to put the ones I have on here to keep myself inspired as well. If anyone sees stuff that is their ones, thank you in advance for your wonderful pictures they have inspired me to make many amazing scrapbook layouts and of what sort of things to take pictures, whether they are big or small, bright or dark etc.

Katelin is the youngest of my three nieces, She is four years old and a lovely character. She uses her manners when she remembers, talks alot like she doesn't want to be quiet, she enjoys watching Cbeebies on tv, her faviourite program is called In The Night Garden and she loves to eat grapes. Her faviourite fruit though is strawberries and she also likes bananas, she finds it hard to say yellow so she says lellow. She loves posing for photos when I am taking them of her it is like she is a natural model by heart. She enjoys board games like monopoly and the shopping game, as well as playing snap with cards and pairs. She loves to dance to funny music when she is in the mood, sometimes she laughs about nothing and can not seem to stop for ages. She is very ticklish and she loves to help me when I am tidying up or cleaning something. She enjoys going places with me and gets upset still when I say I have to go and she stays with nanny.
When learning to walk she would not give up and would hold on to furniture to stand on her feet, it was lovely to see her determination.

Barack Obama

My thoughts on the US elections,is that Barack Obama was the right one to win, as he ideas and changes he plans to make are very understanding and make sense to what the country needs to bring a massive change from what things have been wrong like racism. It makes a change from all the presidents being white men and from the republican party as it goes to show that when they were in charge things were sort of going down, I know I may not have the right to say because I am a British citizen but I have seen the news and read things on the Internet and in newspapers to learn more. I do not have a very good feeling about John McCain from the first when the election started in September, he just seemed to try and say bad things about Obama to get votes and the nation on his side. Another thing I do not think that Obama won just because of his colour and race because he was always the best candidate in my opinion and I believe that others will be inspired to run for major roles just as president or mayor etc,maybe have more courage to stand up to racism or discrimination and make a different to the nation and also the world.

There is also word on the London tonight news that Barack Obama may be visiting my home town of Watford, Hertfordshire in 2009 sometime for the G20 meeting at the Grove Hotel which is a posh one on the outskirts of west Watford near the town centre. I know that he will be meeting with the world leaders, I could not believe it when I saw my town on the News as nothing like that has happened before. It seems that he may come to Mancester or Birmingham or London instead though, but it would be great if he came to Watford a big but not greatly known place just outside of London. I have lived here all my 19 nearly 20 years and nothing of much excitement as happened in my life time, I know that Elton John was born here and Geri Halliwell and Vinnie Jones, but no massive film stars or celebrities. It would be amazing to say to people that I saw the new american president to be in my town even though I do not really care if they believe me or not.

Chicago. Washington, DC. Watford? The town could welcome Barack Obama on his first visit to the UK as the 44th US President, if it is selected as the venue of a G20 summit next spring.
The Grove Hotel, in Chandler’s Cross on the outskirts of Watford, has been shortlisted to host the international summit, where 20 world leaders will meet to discuss the global economy on April 30.
The hotel is already the base for the England football team, while Tiger Woods and the New Orleans Saints American football team have also stayed there.
The Grove previously welcomed 15 world leaders when it hosted the Progressive Governance Summit.
Birmingham and Manchester are also hoping to host the G20 summit, while Japan is keen to bring the G20 to the Far East.
A formal announcement is expected next week during the Pre-Budget Report, though London is reported to be the most likely venue.

The G20 is made up of Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, Turkey, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. The European Union is also a member, represented by the rotating Council presidency and the European Central Bank.

day trip to Dickens World, Kent.

I went to Dickens World with my Dad as he is a coach driver and sometimes takes people to places for day trips, he asked if I wanted to come and I didn't want to miss out on the opportunity so I said yes. It took a while to get there, as it is all the way in a town called Chatham, Kent, England Dickens World is about the life and times of the writer Charles Dickens. The inside of Dickens world was not what I was expecting, it was a lot smaller and very dark there, but the props and buildings did look just like they would have back in Victorian London where Dickens was all that time ago. We walked around the place and went on a wet ride and we didn't really get wet at all, there was voices playing to do with one of Dickens books called Great Expectations and we went past a few scenes on the boat ride, I was worried that something was going to jump out at us and scare us but nothing did. One part I hid my head, but still nothing I did feel silly afterwards and when they said we would get wet we did not. It was pointless, also we went inside this thing called the haunted House there was a creepy lady who was trying to scare us with staring and she had make-up like she was a ghost. She told us to go up the stairs as we were with a group, we stopped at various places to watch films about books by Dickens again like "scrooge" or the christmas carol. I found it quite boring I must admit as the house didn't seem scary at all, I prepared myself at the end for the lady to go boo at the last corner but she never did, once out me and dad just walked around some more.
